Anyone who has problems with upgrading an old guix version, run:
guix package -i guile-sqlite3
guix pull
guix pull # yes, a second time
New Guix versions are now pre-build on hydra.gnu.org and installed to .config/guix/current.
That should mean goodbye to long compile times for guix pull. !guix -

I'm testing out obs on GuixSD. I reinstalled GuixSD 0.14 on my laptop and it correctly detects my intel graphics now. Obs looks really cool, it runs smooth and without problems, seems pretty powerful and is easy to use.

A new !guix version was release today (0.14)!
More than 1200 new packages have been added since 0.13 (now totaling +6k).
This is the first release that comes with an iso image that can be burned to DVD.

I got it running now!
The problem with the missing drives was the SCSI driver. I switched to SATA drivers and now everything is found.
>You took a running Debian and just ran `guix system init` on it?
This is how I did it now:
1. Installed a minimal Ubuntu image offered by the hoster
2. installed guix binary
3. ran guix pull
4. ran `guix system init config.scm /` and rebooted
5. ran `rm -rf /etc/` from a rescue disk, because guix tries to symlink stuff there on boot and failed because old ubuntu files already existed.

If anyone wants to get into !guix packaging and is looking for a simple package, the box2d and chipmunk2d physics libraries are both not packaged and probably both not very complicated. -

pdflatex somehow broke on !guix update. But, I needed it urgently to finish some work this evening. So, I just "rolled back" my system state to before the update, and everything worked perfectly. Guix is indestructible! -
